Toddler Teacher

Teach in our toddler classroom, working with children from 24 to 36 months.

At this age the hardest work children do is play, and almost everything is learned through toys and games. The classrooms are theme based, with learning centers and a range of materials, and the approach is hands-on — children learn by experimenting and exploring rather than by being talked at.

What the day looks like

Alongside Language Arts, Number Concepts, Arts and Crafts, and fine and gross motor skills, much of the year is spent on self-help: graduating from a sippy cup to a regular cup, letting go of the pacifier, using forks and spoons, table manners, and learning to use the bathroom. Potty training is done in partnership with parents.

Children are encouraged to sing, repeat nursery rhymes and build vocabulary. You would track daily activities so families can see how their child’s day went.

What we are looking for

• A CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or an Associate degree
• 18 years or older, with a high school diploma or equivalent
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it
• A DFPS background check, or willingness to complete one
